This is Sum Ting Wong live from an undisclosed location in the nation's rustbelt. Here, in this unassuming former factory town, the workers had been put back to work helping to manufacture deployment mechanisms for the mutant cure. That is, until tonight, when, unfortunately, they became the latest victims of continued mutant violence. This is the fifth in what is a string of mutant attacks on cure-related facilities.
Under the cover of darkness, an undisclosed number of mutant renegades sabotaged the manufacturing plant here. The resulting firestorm burned alive many of the innocent bystanders as they were preparing to go home after a hard day's work. Our prayers are with the families of these brave citizens this evening. The local officials and government liaisons have already vowed to bring the mutants responsible to justice. If you have any information that may lead to an arrest, please, call our tipline at 1-800 STOP NOW. That's 1-800 786-7669. 1-800 786-7669. With your help, we can apprehend these criminals.
In related news, the distribution date of the cure has been pushed back to an unspecified date. Representatives at Worthington Industries cite obligations under a newly-imposed government contract as the cause of the delay. Our source within the company has gone on record to say that the army is planning to stockpile more of the drug than initially anticipated. This has resulted in the diversion of existing supplies to federal facilities. A backlash has already begun to form in front of the corporation's headquarters in San Francisco and elsewhere. Angry mutants are demanding that they be given their shot at humanity. This reporter, for one, sympathizes with their plight.
Live at the scene of the recent mutant attacks in the heartland, this is Sum Ting Wong for CNN, Headline News.
